Jul 01, 2017: 11:31am updated https://vps1.yellowsprinkles.org/ message with new expected opening date. New York has made the YellowSprinkles.org project near impossibly difficult. Never giving up, just adjusted the time line to something more realistic.
Jul 01, 2017: 5:32pm downloaded, burned, and successfully verified Tails 3.0 ISO.
Jul 02, 2017: 4:30pm spent a good amount of time kicking the tires of Tails 3.0. I'm impressed, but it takes approximately 30 minutes for each reboot and to get logged back in. That amount of time will improve as time goes on.
Jul 02, 2017: 11:46pm successfully tarballed the ethererum chaindata. Going to try using ethereum without having to maintain a complete copy of the entire blockchain since it's quickly consuming massive amounts of storage space and thrashing my SSD.
Jul 02, 2017: 11:51pm hello Parity. Let's see what you can do.
Jul 03, 2017: went grocery shopping

Jul 06, 2017: 2:45am started trying to install Parity again.
Jul 06, 2017: 4:48am had to upgrade cargo, rust's package manager. Still going on the Parity install...

Jul 06, 2017: 5:29am Parity started successfully... it's now sync'ing the blockchain... this looks like it'll be a while... nap time...
Jul 06, 2017: 9:30am parity is fully sync'ed now.
Jul 06, 2017: 11:41am need to figure out how to reserve/register an .eth domain name. See http://registrar.ens.domains/.
Jul 06, 2017: 12:22pm absolutely amazing stuff with this name registration process. Mind blowing. Game changing. Finally! A solution to my addiction to registering (and paying for) so many .com domains and other TLD domains! I'm totally fine with .eth domains. The process is very time-sensitive, and I can't adhere to the 72-hour/48-hour right now, but I'm sure I'll come back to this soon...
Jul 07, 2017: 5:25pm took my first Uber ride in New York state to get my hair cut. It worked awesome. It's about time, NY... I've been using Uber for 6+ years in Virginia! I had a bitcoin virgin today. I tipped the driver with bitcoin after showing him how to set up a blockchain wallet.
Jul 07, 2017: 8:01pm took my first Lyft ride in New York state today on my way back home. Again, been using Lyft for years in VA. The driver did not seem intelligent enough to comprehend bitcoin. I was his first Lyft ride ever though, so another virgin. Definitely not as exciting though. I tipped on bitpay debit card through the Lyft app and also gave him a small amount of good old fashioned cash.
Jul 08, 2017: 2:09am getting very close to the likely bitcoin blockchain split coming around the end of July. Everyone should get all of your coins off the exchanges before this time. There will surely be VERY WILD price swings coming soon since if people move coins off the exchanges, that's when the huge fluctuations set in quick. Read this article for good advice.
