Apr 12, 2018: finished paying off all outstanding Amazon Web Services outstanding invoices. Requested account re-initiation with the following message to their Billing Support staff:

Hello. I am starting to rebuild my web presence and would like to possibly utilize AWS again.

I have settled all of my outstanding charges. My apologies for the lapse in my payment history. I was very tragic car accident in which my fiancée died. I was in a coma for a month, in the hospital for 2 months, and am just now starting to be able to function again. I will do everything in my power to keep up on my AWS charges, as well as not be in a serious car accident ever again. There is no doubt my seatbelt saved my life. Please always wear yours.

I have little to no interest in recovering any of my old data, but may be interested in checking to see what it was, if that's possible/convenient. I'm primarily interested in building a new EC2 server.

Apr 13, 2018: had two shattered molars successfully extracted, bone graft completed. Follow up in a couple weeks to start first dental implant. Agreed to pay $3600 out-of-pocket. Already paid half in cash.
Apr 22, 2018: bithost.io deleted both vps1.yellowsprinkles.org and vps4.yellowsprinkles.org for nonpayment, as well as all historical backups. Lost about a year's worth of work with that whole debacle. Unsure if I'll have the time, money, or willpower to restart this project again.
